I just got home from my weekly market schlepp. 30 minutes in the store loading up the "schlepp-mobile" and 2 hours unpacking all the bags ..... but, this morning was not our every-day, ho-hum, routine trip up and down those endles aisles at the market. Nope, it sure wasn't ... well not for me, anyways. As I stumbled towards the entrance from the parking lot, I spotted Martha Washington on her way in. Hmmm, didn't know Martha did her own grocery shoppin'. After grabbing a "schlepp-mobile" I cruised inside and who should I see at the pharmacy counter collecting her week's drug stash? Bette Midler, 'tis herself, be doin' her drug dealin's. A few aisles over Tiny Tim and Ms. Vicki were debating over which air freshener offered the best fragrance whilst eliminating all those unwanted household odors .... and Tiny broke out into a spirited rendition of "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" which persuaded the lovely Ms. Vicki to opt for the "Springtime Garden Delight" spray mist. Who might I encounter next? Could that truly be Julia Child standing over a steaming hot iron handing out freshly ironed "grilled cheese sandwiches"? Why yes, I truly believe it was .... but, I politely said. "No thankees." and toodled on my way when she handed me a sample of her steaming creation .... Speaking of cheese, the next in-store celeb to cross my path, was in fact a market clerk that I've conducted many a transaction with in recent years. Sandra, was playing the part of a prison escapee, all the way down to her wrists and feet bound by metal cuffs! Oh my stars on Hollywood Blvd. how could Sandra ever take care of business with hands and feet locked up by chains and cuffs? Before she hopped off to her cashier's check out line, I commented to her that with all of the celebs in the store that morning I was surprised Mickey and Minnie were not there greeting the market guests, or should I say customers? Sandra responded, "Oh Mickey and Minnie are here." And as she gestured with the 'Disney 2-finger point' told me, "They are over in the cheese and deli section." I should have known that's where they would be! After giving me grand hugs, and doing our Happy Hop dance in the deli, I assured them they could not go wrong with the deli's very own signature "Mac and Cheese" entree for their supper. Ah, what a busy shopping trip I enjoyed ..... and as Dolly checked me out at her cash register, she too burst into singing, "Working 9 to 5 .... " and as I pushed my "schlepp-mobile" towards the doors, Dolly shouted, with a smile the size of Tennessee, and an excited wave, "Y'all come back now, honey lamb."
