Day Three (Epcot)

Day three’s weather was picture perfect, a few puffy clouds and plenty of sunshine.
Today, our only planned meal was to have dinner at the Yachtsman’s Steakhouse. It was another place we had wanted to try in the past but just never got around to trying it. But before I get ahead of myself our breakfast would be at the Boardwalk Bakery for coffee and, you got it, pastry, two glazed cinnamon rolls, please.

We sat outside the bakery on the boardwalk and watched as a mother duck and her two ducklings waddled down the pier to get breakfast of their own.
Mama kept an eye on her two ducklings as they ducked in and out of the tables and chairs feasting on what people would give them. After several minutes of eating, mama called out to them, “come on out”, “lets go home”, and off they went waddling down the pier back to where they came from.

It was time for us to hit the road also, but first, back to the room to pick up the cameras and water bottles.

One reason why we wanted to stay at the BC was its close proximity to Epcot and DHS, a short two minute walk to Epcot and 20-25 minute walk to DHS.
I do like that Disney allows you to walk through World Showcase even though it’s closed until 11:00 AM to get over to Future World. This is a perfect time to take pictures without having lots of people in your shots.
Do you remember me saying I saw a lot of Barb’s backside on the first few days, here she is making her way through World Showcase.

Canada without people

A picture of Spaceship Earth.

A flower with water droplets in front of the fountain.

The first attraction we wanted to do was Soarin, before the lines grew too long. I do like the way Disney keeps you occupied while waiting in lines, making a little bit easier by having the interactive games that you play along the way, like in the queue of Soarin.
After a smooth flight over California, we trekked on on over to The Living Seas to meet up with Nemo and friends.
Here are a few shots of the reflecting pool along the way.

Mine, mine, mine, mine

We boarded our clamobile and headed into see The Seas with Nemo & Friends. I’ve tried to take pictures in here before but never had any luck getting a descent shot, until now. Here is the only good picture I have taken in Nemo & Friends.

So far we have flown over California and swam with the fish so what’s next?..............lets go into outer space.

After MS, it was approaching noon and of course I was getting hungry.
The plan all along was to have lunch via the Food & Wine Festival booths, so we followed the wonderful smells into World Showcase.
Our first stop was Argentina booth where we had Beef and Corn Pie with a nice view of Spaceship Earth.

After a quick tour through Mexico and a boat ride with the Three Caballeros we found our selves in front of the Austria booth where Barb wanted to try the Beef Goulash with Bacon Dumpling.

We washed it down by trying the Greentea Plumwine cooler from China. It was very good, actually everything we tried was very tasty. We also tasted the Pepperberry Prawns on the Barbie with Sweet Potato Hash from Australia. At this point it was very warm out and what better way to cool off but to have a Samuel Adams beer, a 13th annual Festival Lager that is only made for the Food & Wine Festival. We wanted to taste more but knew dinner would be here soon so we decided to hold off until later in the week.
Here are a few pictures from around the World Showcase.

The United Kingdom always seems to have the nicest flowers Epcot and today was no exception.

After taking in the Celtic Rock of Off Kilter, we headed back to the resort to freshen up for dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse has a cruel flaw, they make you walk past the desert table before you even sit down, very bad for a chocolate addict such as myself. Barb started with the seafood salad and I the Lobster Bisque.
For the main entrée Barb ordered the Roasted Chicken and I had the Yachtsman Filet mignon, sorry, no pictures but luck would have it OLP has pictures of our main dishes just go to the review page of the Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Our meal was very good and so was the service. We didn’t have any desert but we did go to Beaches & Cream for ice cream later that night before relaxing back at the resort and taking a long swim in the sandy bottom pool.

Stay tuned for Day Four (Magic Kingdom)

Woody, thanks for the cool report. You were dragging your feet weren't you?
Your pictures are great. I've forgotten, what camera do you have? It does a great job. They are crisp and clear and the color is great.
Only 18 more days and I can experience it.
I got my two shots of steroids today. One in each knee.
Keep em coming.

Thanks, Dawn.  I have been spending too much time doing schoolwork and going to work.  I just don't get to move much.  And Bob was just too slow.  And it wasn't because of the pictures.  He just couldn't seem to keep up this trip.  Do you think I have been consuming too much caffeine?  Or do you think it was the adrenaline from not being at work and getting a minor reprieve from schoolwork?  It was probably a bit of both.
