Who's got a happy Disney story?  Those are the kind I love to read

I'll start:

We took my mom (who has passed now) to Disney World in 1999.  During lunch at the Rose & Crown, Lazar started flirting with waitress using a British accent.  She was game, and the two of them had my mom laughing so hard she almost fell over.  I love thinking about that day with her

Ok, I have a silly one!  I kept telling Brandon I wanted to skip down main street on this trip like I did last time.  He said he would pretend he didn't know me!  So, when we got out of getting Justin's hair cut, Jeff and I held hands and skipped our way down Main Street!  Brandon turned around and walked away!  Justin just stared at us like we were crazy!!

Here's another:

Brandon and I were headed to DTD while the Jeff and Justy went back to the room.  So, B and I took the monorail to TTC, another to Poly, then a bus to DTD.  The bus driver was an absolute RIOT!!  He was telling silly stories, etc, but then he really went silly when he broke out into song!  Yup!  It was a lovely rendition of the Mickey Mouse March and Zipadeedoodah!!  Then, after we left DTD we took the boat back to POR.  That boat driver was just as silly as the bus driver!  He kept saying he was finding new gears and speeding, then told us a story of a tree frog that leaped onto the boat and landed on his face!!  Yes, it was a silly night for transportation drivers in DW!!!

Oh goodness! I have a million happy memories about Disney! Isn't that what we all love about Disney?

Oh Jodi, those Disney transportation folks are so much fun, aren't they? And, it is totally within your parental rights to embarass your teen or pre-teen. When the kiddoes stop being cuddly...it's all we parents have left!

One of my sweetest....

When Lindsay was 4 (she's now 15!) we were waiting for the start of a parade. It was cloudy and overcast and it was our last chance to catch the parade before leaving for home. The clouds burst open and it poured! People scrambled out of the park in a mad dash. The group of people standing near us pointed to a recessed doorway where we could sheltered Lindsay out of harms way. Then we all stood in front of her as a buffer zone to protect her from the rushing crowd. There we waited out the storm laughing and giggling with these relative strangers while Miss Lindsay sat safely in her little shelter. When the storm passed and the rain abated, the whole group of us took off for a spooky ride through the Haunted Mansion while thunder rumbled in the distance and the gentle rain still fell. The cast members in HM were especially silly and attentive to all of us that night. They went out of their way to sneak up and spook the teens and make us all laugh. The teens in our group (now young men and women!) still will say "Remember when we rode the HM during the storm? That was a blast!" We also will always remember the concern and comraderie we shared with kind strangers, never mind that we didn't see the parade. It's all good!

Then there was the time Sleeping Beauty kissed Lindsay on the cheek and left her lipsticked lip print! Lindsay cherished it all day! Guess I should dig out pictures. Those are all pre-digital photos! Remember THOSE? LOL

Ok, I have a good happy story. Or at least a magical one...

We're at AK in 2002 - the soon-to-be wife, and I, and her 10 year old god daughter were waiting for the parade, over near Camp Minnie-Mickey. We had a pretty good spot - right across from (I think) the DVC booth. It was some sort of small covered area, anyway. So we're waiting, and along come a couple of guys with a guitar, some steel drums, and a bass. They set up in the middle of the parade route, and start playing some fun instrumental island music.

Then it starts to rain. We all put on our ponchos to wait...and the band guys quickly drag their stuff under the canopy. A minute later they are set back up. They start playing again, and then the rain gets harder.

Then all of a sudden, they start playing " I can see clearly now" by Johnny Nash...then the guitar player, with a huge smile, starts singing. The next thing you know, everyone standing there waiting starts singing along in the rain. We went through the song a couple of times, when lo and behold, the rain stopped, and the sun came out brighter than ever. Everyone cheered! They played a few more songs, and then the parade began.

If that's not Disney Magic, I don't know what is!
